Group Class Rules

  • A wearable treat pouch is mandatory so you have your hands free to work with your puppy.

  • We ask that you only bring one extra person with you as the space does not accommodate large groups.

  • Bring quality treats your puppy will work for. Variety is best!

  • Potty your dog before every class.

  • Bring poop bags.

  • All puppies must remain on leash, no exceptions

  • 6 foot leashes are best for training, NO retractable’s please!

  • Only give treats to your own puppy.

  • We can’t have fun and do good work if we are all distracted by barking. If you have a dog who is a demand barker, don’t worry we will engage in an exercise on the first day to reduce barking.

  • Remember to HAVE FUN! Training class is a great opportunity to bond with your dog/puppy and build the foundation for your long future together.

  • We will NOT be having an open play. If you would like to let your puppy play with another puppy in the class be do so outside once class is over.

Methods

We will be using positive reinforcement methods as well as associative learning. Associative learning means that we will get the behavior from our dog first THEN we will name the behavior. This has been proven to be the best method to help your dog make the correct association to the cue.

Puppies learn their life skills through play so we will incorporate lots of games into our training sessions!

Dog training is like a savings account, time invested while the dog is young will pay off with years of good behavior.
